
In accordance with its articles of association and following the corresponding European and international standards, OSDEL supports and provides financial assistance to cultural initiatives for the benefit of its members and society at large.
In 2016, OSDEL’s Board of Directors drew up a new Cultural Grants Regulation, with the purpose of ensuring transparency and more effective realisation of the cultural objectives it pursues.
Within the framework of its cultural objectives, OSDEL provides financial support or assistance to the following:
- Actions promoting the love of reading.
- Actions contributing to the dissemination of Greek works abroad, as well as the presence and participation of creators and publishers in international fora.
- Young creators, with the aim of fostering their training and education in cultural and literary fields.
- Research studies documenting and analysing trends in book market data.
- Publications and actions fostering a culture favourable to the protection of copyright and contributing to the fight against the unlawful copying of literary works.
- Awards to young creators, translators and journalists for works and achievements of exceptional merit and significance.
- Scientific conferences contributing to the advancement of OSDEL’s objectives as well as literature and culture in general.
- Initiatives aimed at promoting domestic book production abroad, through participation in international fora and exhibitions.
- Cultural actions linked to the advancement of OSDEL’s work and culture in our country.
- Non-commercial publications with broader cultural value.
- Artistic, educational and training events on books, literary works and authors.
